Intersport Taps VCC Live Remotes by Smartphone
Top Sports and Entertainment Producer Sees VCC Platform as Opportunity to Break New Creative Ground and Increase Fan Engagement
The Video Call Center (VCC) announced today that Intersport, a leading creator
of sports, lifestyle and entertainment-based marketing platforms, will use the
VCC video-caller based television platform to expand its live Twitter coverage
of upcoming marquee events including basketball’s Dos Equis 3X3U National
Championship.
“Our mission when producing events
is to give the viewer an experience that is as close to being there as
possible. The Video Call Center adds a whole new dimension to how we achieve
that,” says Intersport Executive Producer, John Paquet. “VCC live remotes by smartphone make it
feasible to augment traditional coverage with live cameras that are literally
anywhere. Our hosts, fans in the stands—we can have anyone contribute their
perspective while keeping complete editorial control to protect the high
standards our sponsors and event-holders expect from Intersport.”
Coverage of the Dos Equis 3X3U
National Championship will stream live on Twitter beginning April 5th.
Intersport producers will use the VCC platform to capture the first-ever live,
fans-eye view of the competition. Fans in the stands will have the opportunity
to take to the air, using their smartphones to deliver their own live
commentary, reaction, and views from their seats courtside and throughout the
venue. VCC call producers will provide call screening to ensure only the best,
most appropriate fans are delivered to the Intersport control room for
integration into the live stream.
The VCC is the leader in video
caller-based television production.
The VCC makes it possible to leverage the world’s billions of smartphones to
enhance remote coverage while lowering the costs of live remotes and
production. VCC’s reliable, proprietary solutions enable traditional and online
media companies to enhance their production techniques and innovate entirely
new, live and live-to-tape content formats that bring stars, experts,
journalists, athletes, and everyday audience members to air directly from video
calling apps already on their smartphones, laptops, and tablets.
“Intersport has a well-earned reputation for bringing creativity and innovation to its live event coverage,” said VCC CEO Larry Thaler. “They immediately recognized the creative potential of using VCC live video caller remotes to enhance their productions. We are thrilled to be supporting Intersport in fulfilling its vision.”
